As a prelude of the year 2019, the international sports agency VolleyNetWork can announce a prominent reinforcement of its team. Olga Niemi becomes a team ambassador within the VolleyNetWork organization. The 45-year-old sports agent from Salo, Finland can look back on a successful career as a volleyball professional and has been successfully representing athletes on an international level for several years.

Volleyball career began in the former USSR

The volleyball career of Olga Niemi started at the age of 8 years in her birthplace Novokuznetsk in southwestern Siberia. Soon, the talented athlete caught the attention of legendary coach Nikolay Karpol, who guided the then 13-year-old to the elite training group of the former Soviet Union to Ekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk). Niemi played for the USSR junior team and made her debut at 16 in the first team of the traditional club Uralochka-NTMK Ekaterinburg. From there the middle blocker entered the international volleyball stage with performances in St. Petersburg (Russia), Somero (Finland), Leverkusen (Germany), and Salo (Finland).

In Finland, the now experienced sports professional became national player and series champion at top club LP Viesti Salo. 4 championship titles and 5 cup wins are among the impressive record of the exceptional athlete. The collaboration with VolleyNetWork enables Olga Niemi to use her close contact with the volleyball world and excellent networking skills to benefit today’s professional athletes:

“My volleyball career has given me many inspiring moments, and I am grateful and at the same time highly motivated to pass on my experience of 27 years to the active professional generation.” (Olga Niemi)

Strategic partnership and ambassador program

Company co-founder and volleyball agent Dirk Sauermann knows VolleyNetWork’s new strategic partner for over 13 years and looks forward to a new chapter of cooperation, which began in the German Volleyball League at TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 2005:

“Olga and I have been in constant contact since our time together in Leverkusen. We continue our cooperation with mutual trust and passion for volleyball. Today, as then we are both highly motivated to let athletes benefit from our volleyball-specific knowledge and experience. For us, the individual attention for our clients is the key focus of our work.” (Dirk Sauermann)
