Energy for the second half of the season

Katja Kylmäaho and Roosa Laakkonen fight for a good starting position for the playoffs with USC Münster

Today’s Players Update: Roosa Laakkonen 2018-1

Hello from Münster!

The Christmas break is almost four weeks ago and the second half of the season is in full swing. Many things happened during our almost six months here but here are the top three things that we remember the most.

Roosa and Katja and their teammates have fun together on and off-court.

1. Game events in here are big. The average audience is over 1000 people and with all the drums and loud music, we are still amazed at how big thing volleyball is in here.

2. Winter without snow. We are both from Northern Finland so we used to have snow for the whole winter.

3. Hard training culture.

We work hard every day in the weight room and with ball. We are lucky to have such teammates who pushes each other to get better. (Katja Kylmäaho and Roosa Laakkonen)

We are having so much fun together on and off-court.

Our games have gone very well and before Christmas, we ended up being fourth in the league. We waited for Christmas for a long time because we knew that we would have nine days to spend at our homes in Finland. We enjoyed every day for having lots of snow, skiing, eating, and just having quality time with our families.

The two Finns at the USC Münster had many visitors from their homeland in the past months.

During those months we had many guests. There were moms, dads, sisters, and friends. It was fun to show our new home town and our normal daily routines. Also now there’s something to wait for since more guests are coming through our spring in here.

There’s going to be tough matches for the second half of the season because many teams are very even with the points. We are ready!

Tschüss!
