Roosa Laakkonen plays for Finland at the Universiade in Taiwan

Today’s Players Update: Roosa Laakkonen 2017-1

Hello! Ni hao!

I’m currently in Taipei, Taiwan for the Summer Universiade 2017. It’s been amazing and the weather just keeps getting more hot!

We’ve had three games so far against Brazil, Russia and Mexico. We beated Brazil and Mexico but Russia were better in all ways. Top two teams from each pool got qualified for playoffs and we’re in! So cool.

Playoffs starts on Friday against Japan. We really need to do our best to score against a well defensing team like they are, so it’s going to be a tough match. Can’t wait!

Today is Thursday and it’s been a rest day for the team. I was exploring the city of Taipei and saw really cool things, like temples and food markets. Local people are very excited and interested of us and wants to take pictures all the time. Feels like were celebrities!
Now the batteries are realoaded and game faces are ready for beating Japan. Let’s go Finland!

In one and half week I’ll be arriving to Münster for my first professional season abroad. I’ve been looking forward to it for the whole summer and soon it’s coming to a reality. (Roosa Laakkonen)

Katja has told me so much good things about Münster and our little apartment that I just can’t wait to get there.

See you soon Germany!
