Roosa Laakkonen plays for Finland at the Universiade in Taiwan
Today’s Players Update: Roosa Laakkonen 2017-1
Hello! Ni Hao!
I’m currently in Taipei, Taiwan for the Summer Universiade 2017. It’s been amazing, and the weather keeps getting hotter!
We’ve had three games so far against Brazil, Russia, and Mexico. We beat Brazil and Mexico, but Russia was better in all ways. Top two teams from each pool got qualified for playoffs, and we’re in! So cool.
Playoffs start on Friday against Japan. We need to do our best to score against a strong defensive team like they are, so it’s going to be a tough match. Can’t wait!
Today is Thursday, and it’s been a rest day for the team. I was exploring the city of Taipei and saw cool things, like temples and food markets. Local people are very excited and interested in us and wants to take pictures all the time. Feels like were celebrities!
Now the batteries are reloaded and game faces are ready for beating Japan. Let’s go Finland!
In one and half week I’ll be arriving to Münster for my first professional season abroad. I’ve been looking forward to it for the whole summer and soon it’s coming to a reality. (Roosa Laakkonen)
Katja has told me so much good things about Münster and our little apartment that I can’t wait to get there.
See you soon Germany!
